Changelog

What's new in each version of Bloom.

0.4.0Talk to Bloom

Answer your agent from anywhere, and tell Bloom what to do.

  • Approve from the button: when Claude Code asks to run something while you're in another app, the button turns amber. Open the menu, see the command, and tap Allow, Always or Deny.
  • Talk to Bloom: say "put Safari on the left and turn on do not disturb" and Bloom does it, step by step. Speech is recognised on your Mac, and anything that loses work waits for your OK.
  • The menu shows which app is using the microphone, with a one-tap Mute.
0.3.0Agent Watch

Your coding agents on the button, a microphone light, and a library of menus.

  • Agent Watch: the button glows blue while Claude Code works, turns amber when it needs you, and shows a green tick when it's done, in Terminal, iTerm2, Ghostty, Warp, VS Code and the Claude app. The menu jumps you straight back.
  • A small orange dot on the button while any app is using a microphone.
  • Menu Library: ready-made menus for Figma, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Blender, Notion, Slack, Zoom, Excel, Obsidian and Cursor. Share your own as a link or a .bloommenu file.
  • Automatic updates, signed and verified before they install, and an opt-in crash report if Bloom ever quits unexpectedly.
  • Fixed: shortcuts now press the right key on every keyboard layout, including AZERTY, QWERTZ and Dvorak.
  • Fixed: closing Settings no longer crashes Bloom.
0.2.0Everyday

A new look, everyday tools and a faster way to every action.

  • Two looks: Glass, with white symbols on frosted keys, and Colorful, with Liquid Glass tiles. Five single-color backgrounds: Midnight, Emerald, Garnet, Champagne and Graphite.
  • Every menu is a full 3×3 grid. App menus show App | Mac tabs at the top.
  • All actions: every action by category, with descriptions and a details card. Search understands everyday words, and with Apple Intelligence, whole sentences.
  • Press and hold the button for a ring of your recent and most-used actions.
  • Menus learn from use and bring your most-used actions forward.
  • Clipboard history, Copy Text (text and QR codes from anywhere on screen), a Sound switcher and a battery, CPU, memory and disk glance.
  • AI Writing on selected text, with Apple Intelligence or your own Claude, OpenAI or Gemini key.
  • Scenes (Present, Meeting, Focus) and Housekeeping (Eject All, Desktop Icons, Clean Screen, Tidy Downloads).
  • More reliable actions: the menu now sits above macOS 27's invisible system windows, and Mission Control, App Exposé and Show Desktop ask the Dock directly.
0.1.0First release

Bloom's first version: a floating button that opens a menu of Mac actions.

  • A glass button that snaps to any edge or corner, fades when idle, and stays on top across Spaces and full-screen apps without taking focus.
  • 87 built-in actions across navigation, system, power and toggles, screenshots, windows, tabs, Finder, media, editing, view and Settings panes.
  • Automatic window tiling: tile every window into an even grid, or put the front two side by side. Move the front window to your next display.
  • One-tap toggles: Sleep Mac, Restart, Shut Down, Log Out, Screen Saver, Stay Awake, Wi-Fi and microphone mute, plus shortcuts straight to the Network, Bluetooth, Location Services, Battery, Displays, Sound, Notifications and Privacy panes.
  • Menus for AI agents: Claude, ChatGPT and Codex, and Claude Code or Codex CLI in Terminal, iTerm2, Ghostty and Warp.
  • The menu shows the front app's icon and name when an app menu is open.
  • Custom actions: record keyboard shortcuts, open apps and links, run Shortcuts, and nest folders.
  • Menus for 14 apps that switch with the app in front.
  • Click, double-click, long-press, right-click, scroll and a global hotkey.
  • Seven tints, three sizes and adjustable idle opacity.
  • Import and export of your whole setup.
  • Welcome flow with license activation.
